eCommerce, Made Easy with Google Docs & Checkout

By Eunice in Blog, Google Apps, Updates at 06:39 pm

Google Docs blog had given us a peek at its Google Checkout store gadget back in July.

Google Checkout store gadget is available in Google Labs and allows you to create online stores simply by using Google Spreadsheet. With the Spreadsheet Data API, your store will be powered by Google Checkout and has its inventory managed in Google Spreadsheet. This can all be done in three steps as in shown in the post on Google Docs blog.

1. Sign up for Google Checkout
2. List products you want to sell in a Google spreadsheet
3. Place the Google Checkout store gadget on your website.

But with the recent introduction of new store gadget wizard, the store creation process is streamlined further by automating the manual steps in the original guide.

No need for frustrating, complicated coding or excessively technical tasks, the new wizard allows your store to be embedded on Google Sites, iGoogle, Blogger and other websites.
