Do Voice and Video Chat in Gmail

Google has just launched Voice and Video Chat in Gmail.

I think this is an amazingly simple yet phenomenal innovation.

And the fact that they built in using open standards is forward thinking.

I think walled gardens are coming down. It’s time for such walled gardens to come down anyway.

This is a fantastic collaboration for our team in Singapore and Jakarta to communicate better. Each employee can easily video chat with each other form within the web browser.

Simple things like these, despite not making big leaps in innovation actually produce quantum leaps in usability.

By not having to launch another application to do video makes video conversations more accessible.

You can be sure that I will be evangelizing this to our entire team and clients.
